I Need Your Help to Fight Against Diabetes

“You’re pre-diabetic."
I was told these words by my doctor at my annual checkup on August 31, 2023.
I can't say I wasn't expecting it. As an African American woman in her late 30s who weighs over 300 pounds, this is to be expected. Moreover, this type of diagnosis doesn't have the same shock factor as others, since it's not as critical as a full-blown diabetes diagnosis, or a death sentence like cancer.
Still, it isn't good news.
Ten years ago, I lost my eldest sister to diabetes at the age of 38, and as I approach my 38th birthday, I can't help but reflect on the many unspoken obstacles she faced in dealing with this disease, namely the nature of her passing.
One minute she was the life of the party, unapologetically laughing out loud as she pinched your neck to let you know how funny a joke was (I miss that), and the next her body lay limp, machine dependent, and swollen with unprocessable body fluids in a hospice bed until her untimely death.
To say the least, it was a big adjustment, but in honor of my sister, I am determined to do EVERYTHING within my power to beat the monster that took her life.
As a result, I am putting up a FIGHT like never before, and your support would be greatly appreciated.
Not only do I plan to completely reverse my diagnosis, but as a metaphorical cherry on top, I plan to achieve supreme health by competing in my very first bodybuilding competition in 2026. Yes, the deadline for this project is years away, but I intend to commit FULL-TIME to it, now.
This is where I need your help.
While I am able to meet most of my basic daily needs and expenses, I do need help affording healthier foods, vitamins and supplements, proper training etc; Therefore, I am asking for your help in funding those areas. Any amount would be greatly appreciated!
I also invite you to subscribe to my blog to follow my journey and to consider purchasing one or more of the products available at The Lashae Project Blog Site.
This entire project is dedicated to overcoming diabetes and all of it's friends that have prematurely taken our loved ones' lives. I'm here to stand against it and let diabetes know this is where it stops!
There is nothing we can do to bring them back, but there are so many ways we can honor their legacy. By supporting this mission, you will be able to do just that.
I appreciate you reading this and hope you will support this cause!
